| Bio: | About me???? In a word - Bor.ing. But if you want a more detailed description of Boring, please keep reading... TV junkie: 4 TVs, 4 VCRs, 2 Slingboxes, 1 Tivo (140 hour HD), Slingbox Mobile for Palm Treo 700p (achieved on 5 October 2007) - Tivo/VCR Lineup: The Closer, Ugly Betty, NCIS, House, Las Vegas, Numb3rs, Burn Notice, CSI, CSI:Miami, Medium, Psych, Monk, Dead Zone, Boston Legal, 24, The Unit, Eureka, AmIdol/SYTYCD. (This is waaaay too many shows.) - Shows I watch in real-time/rerun as I catch them: Various shows on FoodTV network, including Good Eats, Jon&Kate plus Eight, Cold Case, L&O: CI, and anything that HB is watching at the moment which includes most of the educational channels. - Shows archived to watch: Heroes, Stargate Season 10, 24, Dexter. - Show/s recently added to Tivo: Criminal Minds (because of the fangirling by the evil ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif){kind=small} brihana25). New Fall 2007 shows added: Moonlight, Pushing Daisies, and Chuck. New 2008 Shows added: Lipstick, New Amsterdam and Eli Stone. Old shows added that are 'new' to me: Army Wives. Old show added because of the collective squeee: SG:Atlantis. So far these are the ones that have stuck to the wall for me.- Shows I watched from the beginning until the bitter end (sorta): JAG, Stargate SG1, Crossing Jordon, Alias. The Family Life: - HB = Honeybunny, my partner for the past fourteen years and counting. - The Prince = HB's son (the youngest). The Princess = HB's daughter (the middle). HB's eldest daughter...I don't have issues with henceforth she does not have a 'title' other than The Wild Child as she is something of a throwback to the 60s-70s. - I have one sister, younger and Mom. My dad passed away a few years ago. I miss him. :/ - I have plants instead of cats (This plant thing new for me...we shall see how long it lasts.) - I drive a 1997 Toyota 4-Runner. Hobbies: Hmmmmm Until my muse went on extended hiatus, return date as yet to be determined...I used to create music/fan vids. I have one NCIS, one Batman Returns and three Stargate SG1 vids languishing on my hard-drive. In the meantime, I provide alpha, beta and creative consultant services for fanfic and fanvids to a handful of talent around the fandom universe. Photography, which was my minor in college. I place particular emphasis on floral, architectural, and people in what I call 'slice of life' moments. Sports wise: Scuba-diving (I used to teach), golf (of which I was never good at but still had fun) and bowling (of which I am truly awful but enjoy immensely.) Have passport. Will travel. Countries/Places I've traveled to: Aruba, Bali, Belize, Bhutan, British Virgin Islands, Burma(Myanmar), Cambodia, Canada, Cayman Islands, China, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Laos, Borneo Malaysia, Mexico, Portugal, Switzerland, Thailand, US Virgin Islands. Places in the future: Viet Nam, India, Peru, Galapagos Islands, and bits of Africa. And Food.... I adore food. I like to cook but HB doesn't like to eat. He hates having food smells in the house. For him, he eats to live. Me, the opposite. Natch. Of the Asian varieties I prefer (in listed preference): Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese, Malaysian, Burmese, Indian, Indonesian. I like Nigerian cuisine but I don't get the opportunity to eat it often. I eat most anything from fancy-schmancy to home-style cooking. From hi-brow restaurants to hole-in-the-wall diners. Hot, sweet, savory, sour...and any combination thereof. I prefer my pizza to be thin-crust, spare on the toppings. Pasta, not of the American styling - too much sauce and usually too sweet. Can eat whole meals of just veggies - or I can go the other direction. There are some food stuffs that squick me but I do acknowledge that it is my own cultural bias coming into play. Music: I have a very ho-hum taste in the stuff. I'm a mainstream music kinda chick. Music truly does influence my nerves so for the most part, I'm better off without rather than with, especially if it's the wrong kind. In the event of possible torture, music would be a very effective to use on me. Frustrated Career: What I wanted to be when I was a grown up person: A commercial airline pilot. And I still do. That's why flying doesn't phase me and I still marvel to this day at the wonder of being able to fly without wings. A million+mile flier. Academia: BS in Education, specialization in Remedial Reading, K-Adult. Minor in art, emphasis in photography. Two classes (stat and experimental) shy of having a double major - the second being psychology. Certified PADI scuba diving instructor. ~ Side note: My brain is geared so much better now to learn. I think I'm learning more now as an adult than I ever did as a teenager. Too bad I'm losing my brain to old age. ;P State of Mind: I'm generally a pretty happy person. My life is good and for that I feel very fortunate. I have my health which I think is the basis for all things. I appreciate that I live in the best country in the world and wouldn't have it any other way. Things I HATE: Exercising. Exercising. Exercising. Did I mention exercising? Things not discussed in polite society: - I'm politically conservative overall. Positively not a Democrat. - Issue driven as opposed to party-line. - Can be a notorious fence-sitter. - While I place myself squarely in the hetro category, I do believe that one can be attracted to a person of the same sex (for various reasons). What makes the difference (or not) is whether one acts on the feelings/attractions. Suffice it to say, I find it best to keep this info between my ears. - I was reared Southern Baptist but have since backslid. As in a lot to the dismay of my sweet mother. I do observe Jewish holidays and find myself studying the religion a bit but I don't think this really compensates according to mom. ~*~ This is probably more than you ever wanted or needed to know but you could have stopped reading at any point in time. Right? :D And so ends the profile of a rather boring, mundane person. Thank goodness I don't wear the color beige. :D | |
